You had your car painted and looking like a million bucks, but having a fantastic paint job won’t do all the work to a long lasting car finish. Keeping your car beautiful doesn’t have to be complicated. Using simple products, a piece of cotton cloth and a little elbow grease, you can get your car just as good as new. Here’s how we get the trick.
Rinse your entire vehicle and be sure to remove any large bits of debris or dirt. Then wash your car from the top and work your way down. Choose an automotive soap that does not have wax or polish in it. Make sure to park on a shady area to avoid the soap from drying, which will dull the finish.
Apply rubbing compound in a damp pad in clean water. The pad must stay damp through the polishing process to avoid damaging your car’s paint.
Start polishing your car, by hand or polishing wheel, one panel at a time moving back and forth, applying steady, constant pressure that will reduce chances of damaging your paint.
As you polish the paint on the vehicle, the compound will swirl and smear. You’ll know your panel is done when the bright finish of the paint is visible. Wash and rinse the car again, to make sure to wash away any polishing compound that remains on the vehicle.
Allow the car to dry then apply a wax coating in circular motion, one panel at a time, like the polishing process. Then use a microfiber towel to buff off the dried wax from your vehicle. Make sure to use a good quality automotive wax to protect the newly polished paint and ensure it has a bright, shiny finish.
