Information Collected Through Our Website
We gather information from you at various points throughout our website. We are the sole owner of the information collected on the website and will not sell or rent this information to any third parties. We may, however, share this information with our affiliates, marketing partners, and other vendors who are contracted to conduct business on our behalf.
We collect and use two types of information on our website: personal information that you provide to us directly and information that we obtain indirectly through cookies and log files.
Personal Information You Provide. You may voluntarily provide personal information to enable us to offer services or respond to information requests. If you decide to fill out specific forms or submit requests, you may be required to provide details such as: your full name, mailing address, phone number, email address, driver’s license number, VIN, license plate number, insurance policy number, and vehicle images. We only collect information that you willingly share with us via email, our website, or direct communication.
As mentioned earlier, we do not sell or lease your personal data to third parties. However, we may share your information with our affiliates, marketing partners, and other service providers contracted to conduct business on our behalf. When you request and/or authorize certain services on our site, we will use and share your personal data as needed to deliver those services to you. Your information will be shared in accordance with the Privacy Policy & Notice in effect at the time the information is collected
Cookies & Log Files. Our website automatically collects usage information, which may be analyzed statistically to identify operational issues, prevent fraud, and enhance the overall effectiveness, security, and integrity of the site. We may use third-party providers to gather and record data on how you use and interact with our website during your visit (“Usage Data”). This may include, but is not limited to, the pages you view, search terms you enter, your IP address, and any personal information you submit. Usage Data may be gathered either by us or our third-party providers using “cookies,” log files, and other technologies. This information is used to manage our website and improve the services we offer. We may share Usage Data in an aggregated statistical format with third parties, but such statistics will not include personal information. Additionally, we may use analytic software (including third-party tools) to track and analyze user behavior in an aggregated and anonymized manner. We do not rent, sell, or trade Usage Data outside of Auto Collision Group.
To enhance website design and user experience, we specifically use Google Analytics (a service provided by Google, Inc.) to monitor site traffic and generate aggregate reports on how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses session cookies in the form of client-side JavaScript code. This service automatically analyzes website usage data when you visit our site. Users who prefer not to have their visit data collected by Google Analytics can opt out by installing a browser extension or by disabling cookies in their browser settings. Opting out of web tracking does not prevent users from accessing the full website with all its features and information. A cookie is a piece of data sent by a website to your computer, stored in a file on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies do not reveal your personal identity unless you have chosen to provide that information. Most cookies expire after a set period of time.
We may not respond to “do not track” signals, tags, or browser-based controls. Additionally, you may encounter tracking mechanisms from other parties before visiting our site, and these will continue to monitor your activity while you navigate our websites. This data is subject to the privacy policies of those other parties, and we do not control or receive data from such tracking mechanisms.
Auto Collision Group also keeps standard web logs that track data for all visitors to our websites. These logs may include:
- The internet domain through which you accessed the website.
- Your IP address (Each time you access the internet, your computer is automatically assigned an IP address. This address can be static or dynamic. A static IP address might be traceable back to you, while a dynamic IP is typically not).
- The type of browser and operating system you are using.
- The date and time you visited the site.
- The pages you viewed while on the site.
- The address of the website you came from when you linked to ours.
We utilize web logs and clickstream data to assist us in improving our site, to identify popular features, and to enhance its usefulness for visitors. Web logs are stored in sequential files, and we generally do not attempt to identify individuals through these logs. However, we may analyze these logs to identify individuals trying to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, or damage our site. If we suspect that a violation of federal, state, or local laws or regulations may have occurred or is about to happen, we may share web log data with law enforcement.
